Baptiste, a talented architect, wishes to design and create his own custom-made desk. He sketches the ideal project and decides to take action.
The materials
Naturally, he chooses our website to order the materials he'll need. The wide selection of wood types available at various prices and the precision of cutting he requires catch his attention.
He selects 2 products: light and rustic wood,
spruce, and mass-tinted medium-density fiberboard,
Valchromat ®, in an anthracite black shade. The choice of spruce is also an ecological one as this wood is
PEFC certified.
He selects his millimeter-perfect cuts using our configurator. He used in total 52 spruce panels and 20 MDF Valchromat® anthracite-black panels. The latter were used to create the insides of the drawers and the desk's top and were assembled with wood glue.
The custom desk
The project consists of a desk top under which 6 small drawers will be embedded, very practical for storing office supplies and other stationery...
On the left side, there is a drawer unit that provides additional storage.
A wooden trestle-shaped base, currently very trendy, completes the desk.
The assembly
To ensure an invisible assembly, he used dowels.
For the finish, he applied a mixture of walnut stain, linseed oil and turpentine.
Despite his lack of experience in carpentry (he says it himself), Baptiste managed to create a unique workspace that is both functional and aesthetic. This project took him about 40 hours of work.
The result?
A magnificent desk created and implemented by Baptiste, with the elements provided by ilicut.
