Our Story
From a Family Sawmill to International E-commerce
The story of Ilicut begins in the heart of Burgundy, just steps away from some of Europe’s most beautiful forests. Led by the Ducerf family, a sawmill established in 1885 grew over the years to become a key player in the wood industry (forest management, primary and secondary processing of hardwoods), with a comprehensive view of wood and its applications.
Backed by industrial expertise and convinced that the future of wood lies in "disintermediated" commerce, its leaders made the bold decision to sell wood panels for interior design online.
The website La Boutique Du Bois was launched in 2009. The company revolutionized the industry by offering an innovative platform that allowed customers to design and order personalized wood products directly from home. No expensive tools or DIY skills were needed: the brand democratized custom design while preserving its customers' purchasing power.
Thanks to this groundbreaking approach, it quickly established itself as a leader in the sector. To further its development in France and internationally, the company rebranded as Ilicut in 2023 and invested in cutting-edge industrial technology.
The Workshop
Located in the village of Vendenesse-lès-Charolles in France, our production workshop spans over 6000 m².
It is equipped with CNC machines, a spray-finishing line, and an automated packaging line.
