In order to dress the wall of one of the bedrooms in his house, Samuel chose to make a large bookcase in the shape of a staircase. This bookcase is 3 meters long and is made up of 5 columns 60 cm wide, the height of which gradually increases by 40 cm with each column in order to give a "staircase" effect. At its highest point, the bookcase reaches 250 cm. This "staircase" effect avoids a massive effect, too imposing when you enter the room where it is installed. On the other hand, it has made it possible to integrate in continuity a display of children's books easily accessible for the little ones and which highlights the books on display.
The project was first modeled by Samuel in 3D on the Moblo tablet application. “This application is easy to use, and once the furniture has been designed, it gives a detailed list of the boards needed to make it with their sizes. "
Samuel then ordered this list of
wooden planks, here in
solid Alder 1.8 cm thick. "The ability to order cuts at non-right angles meant that I didn't have to do any cutting myself." Indeed, thanks to our
online configurator, you can make your furniture to measure so that it is personalized and directly ready to be assembled.
This stair shelf has been fully assembled using 8mm glued wooden dowels. In particular, a manual guide tool made it possible to properly align the holes of the dowels. The assembly was carried out on the floor, then the piece of furniture was then raised against the wall.
We love this pretty staircase bookcase!
