Fresh wood: the wood was not dried and its moisture rate can hence reach 60 to 65%.
Dimensional tolerances
This natural material is alive and can change dimensionally and bend or split over time. This phenomenon should therefore be taken into account when using the product. Our tolerance therefore comes from taking this phenomenon into account as soon as the product is used. Our tolerance in terms of bending is 1cm to 2cm per meter (measure taken beam turned over on the ground). The drying of a beam depends on the humidity of the room. It is generally accepted that a piece of raw oak dries one centimeter per year on both sides. A beam with a section of 5cm*5cm will therefore take 2.5 years to be dry.

Deformation
Drying may lead to deformations and cracks, they are tolerated as natural peculiarities of the wood (see below for an example of a crack on a Douglas beam).
Misuse
These beams are intended for use without further treatment. They are not systematically square-edged when they are cut to the client’s specified dimensions. This out of squareness is tolerated
