Our customization options for your bespoke worktop
At ilicut, we offer you the possibility to create a custom worktop with a wide range of personalization. Whether you’re looking for a solid wood worktop or other materials (laminate, melamine, MDF, etc.), our online configurator lets you adapt your project to your needs:
- Type of manufacturing: at ilicut, several panel types are available depending on your project.
- Solid wood panels, with two possible options: continuous staves (staves running the full length of the panel) or finger-jointed panels (lamellae glued together for a more modern look and enhanced strength).
- ilicut also offers a wide range of wood-based panels: melamine, OSB, laminate, MDF, or plywood.
- Wood species, colours and decors: ilicut offers a varied selection of species of solid woods such as oak, beech, ash, spruce, as well as distinctive choices like cherry, alder or walnut, and exotic species for specific uses. For other panel types, choose among Valchromat solid colours (light grey, orange, red, black) and laminate/melamine decors that realistically reproduce raw materials like concrete, slate, marble or ceramic. Special attention is paid to matching each species with the place of use (for example, avoiding solid oak in the bathroom).
- Dimensions and shapes: enter exact measurements for a perfect fit in your space. Thanks to inner cut-outs, create unique and functional pieces, for example to recess a sink or a cooktop.
- Custom cutting and edge machining: straight, rounded or chamfered edges, edge banding and other finishes—customize the shape for an aesthetic and functional result.
- Finish: choose a professional-quality oiled finish that protects the wood while enhancing its natural grain—ideal to limit wear on solid wood boards

How to take measurements for your worktop?
To avoid unpleasant surprises, it’s very important to take precise measurements of the various dimensions of your future custom worktop, step by step:
- Measure the length accurately, taking into account any joints in L- or C-shaped kitchens;
- Measure the width (depth) with a neat overhang of 2 to 4 cm depending on the desired effect;
- Take into account wall angles, often different from 90°, using suitable tools such as digital protractors;
- Position the cut-outs for cooktops, sinks or other fittings.

After ordering: installation, maintenance and decor tips
After ordering your custom worktop, it’s important to follow a few rules for proper implementation of your project.
Installation and maintenance
Before installing your worktop in your kitchen or bathroom, it must be stored on battens for a few days in a clean and dry room.
If you ordered a raw solid wood worktop (without finish), it is essential to apply an oil or a varnish to the wood before installation. Applying a finish specifically for damp rooms will maintain the worktop’s resistance over time and make it easier to maintain.
If you plan to make cut-outs in the panel, we recommend applying the finish afterwards so that all the edges of the worktop are properly covered.
Finally, at the time of installation, check that all materials in contact with the worktop are perfectly dry and clean to avoid any moisture uptake in the wood.
Choosing a splashback
If you want to install a splashback to match your worktop, you can also order it made-to-measure on our site. To do this, select the smallest available thickness on the product page you chose for your worktop.
If you wish to use solid wood for your splashback, be sure to protect the surface exposed to splashes with an oil or varnish designed for this type of use.
