Common thicknesses and their applications:
- 5 to 10 mm: wall cladding, cabinet backs, light partitions
- 10 to 15 mm: short shelves, decorative panels with support
- 15 to 22 mm: furniture, load-bearing shelves, worktops, partitions
The free span also influences the choice: the greater the distance between supports, the thicker the panel must be to avoid bending. Plywood panels offer an excellent strength-to-weight ratio for your interior design projects.
