This superb solid wood bookcase was entirely designed and manufactured by our customers Elina and Romain from oak and beech panels cut to measure by us.
Do you have a similar project? That's good, our two do-it-yourselfers agreed to share with us the plan of their library as well as the details of the stages of its manufacture.
As with any project worthy of the name, the first stage was devoted to the development of a dimensional plan of the furniture (see photos). A word of advice: do not neglect this step, which will save you a lot of mishaps in the assembly phases.
Next comes the purchase of solid wood . Thanks to their dimensioned plan, our do-it-yourselfers were able to easily order each piece of wood already cut to the right dimensions using the form of custom-made wood cutting from ilicut.com . To give more personality to their library, Elina and Romain have chosen to combine two different wood species in their book: solid oak for the thinner pieces of wood (18mm) and solid beech for the thickest parts (40mm).
Upon receipt of the goods at their home, our handymen were able to get down to the assembly of the furniture. On the program: Drilling and assemblies by trunnions, screws and minifix.
Finally, do not forget to sand the entire furniture and apply the finishing product of your choice (wax in this case ) repeatedly and on all sides of the wood.
