Dominic (@artdomic), our Italian client, skillfully combined practicality and aesthetics by creating a custom under-sink cabinet that transformed his bathroom into a functional and refined space… That's Italian charm at its best!
A DIY project to transform a bathroom
To complete his bathroom renovation, Dominic aimed to create an under-sink cabinet that also serves as storage. His idea? Utilize the space of the former bathtub to optimize the area: both stylish and practical!
He meticulously planned every detail: a large custom drawer accommodating plumbing installations and a back panel integrating a faucet block from the original bathtub. Everything was carefully modeled on a computer beforehand to determine the exact pieces needed for this custom project.
Durable and aesthetic materials
To realize this unique piece, our client selected multi-ply spruce wood panels, 100% PEFC certified, known for their robustness. He ordered 24 panels for the main structure, complemented by a reinforced poplar panel and a spruce panel for strategic areas. To ensure perfect harmony with other bathroom elements, the cabinet received a dark walnut-colored impregnation. Three coats of eco-friendly, semi-gloss, ultra-resistant varnish complete the finish, providing excellent protection against moisture.
An Italian-style DIY bathroom
The result is an elegant, understated cabinet perfectly integrated into the bathroom. The dark tone of the cabinet contrasts delicately with the light beige tiles featuring subtle patterns, creating a harmonious interplay of materials and colors. The white basin with soft lines adds a contemporary touch. The decor remains minimalist: embroidered linens, white accessories, and small green touches create a simple, bright, and timeless atmosphere.
